Brian and I like to have a date once a week, it really helps us connect. Usually we do something on the night his mom gets the boys, but this past week and today his work schedule and mine coincided where we can meet for lunch. I’m so excited! We’re going to meet at the same place again, I guess it’s ‘our’ diner now. I’m such a dork, getting all nervous and excited over meeting my husband for lunch, but I can’t help it, he has that effect on me.
I wish I had dressed up, but the diner is casual, so what I have on is fine. I just want to look a little cuter for him…I’ll refresh my makeup before I go in, and fluff out my skirt though. I like it that he likes it when I look real pretty.
The thing I like best about our dates is that, he talks. Brian is kind of quiet. Not taciturn by any means, he’s just not one to sit around and talk much. On our dates he opens up and expresses things to me, it’s different than when we are at home. At home he likes to chill, watch a game or go work out in the garage on some project or chop up wood, stuff like that. During dinner it’s mostly the kids talking, telling us about school and their day and their friends and all, it’s hard for either of us to get a word in. But on our dates it’s just the two of us, and Brian speaks his heart to me. and he listens to me also. It’s really nice.
