When I first saw this video I was shocked! because um, isn’t Beyonce married, and a conservative christian woman to boot? so…huh?
Call me old-fashioned but what married woman, what religious woman puts her business on front street like that? All that swagging her cooch area around, whaaaa-? Save all that for Jay-Z, please. That is some serious straight-up bedroom moving right there.
Also, doesn’t that style of dancing and dressing kind of conflict with the song? or maybe it doesn’t, if you follow the school of thought that marriage is a type of whoredom for women, hmmm.
Did ya’ll hear about the cheerleading squad that did this dance at a game? I think the coach/teacher got fired, I need to find out. I find it so strange that Beyonce, a married Christian woman, does not think or does not care about the influence her songs and style of dance has on young girls and the conflicting messages she is putting out there.
All that said, I love this song! and she has such a pretty voice. I’m just puzzled over this video, muddling through why…hmmmm.

I believe the cheerleading team got expelled for 10 days. Of course, the boys basketball team that also participated in the dance got no kind of punishment. The girls from the squard are now being harassed in the school and nothing is being done about it. The website whataboutourdaughters.com has more information on it. The parents didn’t seen to mind. It all took place at a basketball game. Can you believe that?
Anyway, I agree about what you’re saying about Beyonce, but sex sells. A much, more decent video could have been done with this song. So why wasn’t it done? Because SEX SELLS.

That is so true. but you know, as usual being slow like I am I am the last person on earth to find out about Beyonce’s alter ego Sasha Fierce. I think the Sasha persona is very interesting, and finding out about her put to rest some confusion I had about Beyonce’s rather lewd dancing in the ‘Single Ladies’ video. It’s not supposed to be her, Beyonce, it’s Sasha Fierce. I get it now, hmmmm.
I’m not a singer/musician but I am a creative person and sometimes it does feel like a ’split’ in personality when you express your creativity in a different way. I have an alter ego, or rather my alt ego has become my dominant ego…well actually it’s more like 60/40 her/me. originally she came out when I wrote sci-fi but now she’s out a great deal of the time. I even look different in pics as Mercury dominant than as Trula dominant (compare here). I know a lot of creatives are this way. I get that it does seem like an act, especially when a big/well known star does it but she probably would have done it if she was singing in her basement, kwim?
The beyonce/sasha fierce thing makes sense to me and clears up the mystery I was thinking of WTH, why is old girl showing us the grind-up like that, but the glove thingy Sasha wears has got to go!! LOL

I agree Trula. Her mixed message(s) are a bit much for me and though the song is catchy (and difficult to get out of my head) I’m going to have to say a big “no ma’am” to Bey. After she wears out this “alter ego” thing I’m wondering what she will do next or rather what her excuse will be to use sex to sell.
*sigh*Young women now a days have to deal with so much its a wonder many of them even had their head on right…its gotta be God.
